AIM

Women in Control aims to reduce gender disparity in science, clinical care, and society at large. This initiative prioritizes unique gender-specific aspects in HIV and STI research, clinical practice, and program implementation, and encourages women leadership in these areas by:

  1. Fostering scientific exchange on women-specific, biological, medical, and social aspects of HIV and STIs

  2. Promoting representation of women in clinical studies

  3. Supporting women's leadership in HIV and STI science and medicine

  4. Fostering career trajectory of early-career women professionals

  5. Empowering the community through education

Women in Control strives to achieve equality across all continents, tailoring its activities to diverse healthcare systems and socioeconomic milieus.

Finally, through education, Women in Control builds capacity in communities of women living with or being at risk of HIV and other sexually transmitted conditions. It enables them to take charge of their health and promote a society that upholds dignity, equality, and health equity.
